The following is a restored 8mm film from November 1957. My granddad John Lester Yates Jr. documented a deer hunting trip he took in Central Texas near Austin. You’ll see plenty of white-tailed deer and wild turkey.

This is a vignette my granddad wrote about one of his favorite natural places – Hamilton Pool in Central Texas. I’ve paired it with an 8mm film he took of Hamilton Pool during the summer of 1958.

The following is an 8mm film made in July 1958. Celebrating Independence Day weekend, my granddad John Lester Yates Jr. documented a camping trip at Lake Travis with a day trip to Hamilton Pool.
