A few highlights from my portrait session with Evenpulse. Stephen and Elizabeth Robinson do some intriguing work in the area of human performance and potential. They’re currently rebranding, and I'm grateful to help them in that regard. They’re a dynamic couple who made my job easy. I wish them the best of good fortune in the next phase of their business.
I'm intrigued by obscure figures in history. Here's a #photorestoration of a portrait of Francis Schlatter (1856-1896), an Alsatian cobbler known as "The Healer" who wandered around the American Southwest performing "miracles." He also claimed to be the reincarnated Jesus Christ. But his healings and teachings were so convincing, he drew crowds of thousands throughout Colorado and New Mexico, before his skeleton was found beneath a tree in the Sierra Madres of Mexico. However, due to his rising fame, it is rumored that Schlatter staged his death and continued performing his "miracles" for another twenty-five years, but there were also a lot of imposters who followed in his wake....
After hiking to the top of Black Elk Peak, Chels and I came across a family of mountain goats scrambling across some boulders.
I know what this looks like, but I'm innocent. There we were at the top of Black Elk Peak, enjoying a light snack of apples and Cheez-its when I dropped one a few feet beneath my feet. Harry here shot out of a crevice and zipped down to snag it.
On our way back to the campsite after our hike to Black Elk Peak, we came across another enormous bison. He wasn't as large as the monster we came across that morning on our way to the trailhead, but he was still a biggun. Custer State Park in South Dakota is home to 1350 bison, who roam within its 71,000 acres of forested foothills. The Black Hills is one of the prettiest wilderness areas I've visited, and I can't wait to return. This is another shot from the Harney Peak Hike video I'm editing.
I'm working on a video of a hike Chels and I took to Black Elk Peak. On our way up we came across this Mountain Bluebird - a summer resident to the western part of South Dakota.
